There has been alot of talk lately about George Browns “Traffic Ultimatum” information package. George claims he has assembled a bunch of “traffic secrets” that you cant find anywhere else. He says these secrets are getting him thousands upon thousands of visitors per day. And of course, he is willing to sell you all of these traffic secrets.

Now, I do not doubt that he has assembled some great information, but there is one thing that bothers me about all these so called “traffic secrets” that people like George are selling.

If a person has figured out how to get several thousand hits per day from the search engines, they could just go use that traffic to make huge amounts of money with standard multiple streams of income type programs. This person would have so much traffic that they could make a small fortune using it to promote almost anything.

So this begs the question:

Why does this person need me? Why dont they just go make big money off all that traffic?

And why would they want to let everyone on the internet find out these secrets? After all the minute Google see’s everyone using these “secrets” then they will pull the plug on it and change their system so that it doesn’t work anymore. (like they have many times in the past)

It would make no sense to tell everyone the secrets. The only reason a person would share the secrets is to sell them, but like I said, once everyone knows the secret, Google will change it up so that it no longer works and now you’ll need new secrets to get your traffic with.

This logic is why I do not throw my money at these type of info packages. If he is getting half a million hits per day he sure should not need to sell the method to me, he could just go use the method and cash in that way. And by keeping his “traffic secrets” to himself, he stays under Googles radar and his traffic secrets keep on working forever for him.

I came across a new program that combines an old idea with a new idea and it is awesome. Here at Makemoneyteam, the Caffeine update seems to have had a positive effect on our traffic. There are now more longtail keyphrases showing up in our logs and our main keywords are placing higher than they were before the update began rolling out last month.

As a search engine user, I think the results are are a bit better although it’s just how I feel, I can’t quite put my finger on it but it seems like lately my searches are more successful since the Caffeine update began.

You can be sure I will be studying Googles behavior and if I notice anything noteworthy I’ll post it here. So far, this caffeine doesn’t give me the jitters!

The real question is, WHEN should I join a money making program. Never mind what type of program it is. “WHAT” you say? How can I decide which program to join unless I know what type works the best? The truth is that there are MANY programs of all different kinds that can make you money. In fact, most programs can make you money. If you can gernerate enough traffic you can sell almost anything. However most people get the cart before the horse. They join the program not knowing how or where they are going to get the web traffic to send to their page. Building a good amount of quality traffic can take YEARS not months. Do not join a money making program right away. Instead, invest that money into setting up your own website and use the site to start building a list of email contacts. The programs you’ll need to do this all have affiliate programs built in so you can make money from those while building your list. You can get a low cost domain name and website hosting from Namecheap.com which has an affiliate program built in. Then I recommend that you use reputable list building auto-responder service such as Aweber.  You can use Aweber to start your own newsletter and over time you will collect a customer base to work with. Eventually you can get enough signups into these programs so that they pay for themselves. Once you’ve accomplished that goal, then you can look at a money making program or you can just keep promoting your “affiliate business tools” and make money that way. The main thing is do not join a monthly pay affiliate program unless you have lots of good quality traffic at your disposal. Job 1 is get the traffic. Worry about the rest later. Money making programs come and go, and when you are ready to join one, there will be one around. No need to jump on the “new launch” because later on, when you have the traffic and an email list, there will always be a program you can join.

Everyone who advertises online quickly realizes that they need much more traffic from the search engines than they first realized. Sadly there are Internet vultures waiting  for them with slick websites that do not deliver the traffic that they promise. If you’ve been online a while you’ve seen the ads… “we’ll send you 2.7 million hits for fifty dollars” ect…

When you see an ad like that simply ask yourself this question:

“if this guy can deliver that much traffic why would he sell it to me? Why not use the traffic to make a fortune selling an e-book or something?” Answer:

If the traffic was real he would be an idiot to sell it to you. If he could get millions of real visitors he would be wealthy overnight and would not need to sell the traffic to anyone.

It is easy to set up a site that sends fake hits to your site so be careful.

My advice is if you see a site that claims to have a vast amount of visitors to send you, do a bit of research. Google the company name and see what folks are saying about them in the forums. If they are rippoff artists then chances are you will see lots of posts saying so. OR If they are a legitimate company with a real service to offer you will find posts to that effect. Check around the Internet real good before you spend a dime!
